Mountain Vista Governor's School is an academic year Governor's school for Math, Science, and Technology serving the following school districts :
MVGS News
1.) Information Meeting - Prospective students and parents are invited to attend an MVGS Information Meeting. Faculty and staff will be present to discuss the MVGS program and answer questions. Current MVGS students will be available to describe their experience in the MVGS program.
Middletown Campus, Corron Center - January 30, 7:00 p.m. (Weather cancellation date: February 6)
Warrenton Campus, The Barn - January 31, 7:00 p.m. (Weather cancellation date: February 7)
Applications for admission to MVGS will be available in the guidance office at the base high schools or on the school division website. Completed applications are due in the guidance office no later than March 1, 2012.
2.) MVGS School Closings and Inclement Weather - If a school division is closed due to a holiday or teacher work day and MVGS is open, a student is not required but encouraged to attend MVGS. When a school division is closed, that school division will not provide transportation so students who chose to attend MVGS will need to make arrangements for transportation.
The following is the MVGS policy for inclement weather closings:
Middletown Campus:
Frederick County Public Schools Closed or Two Hour Delay: MVGS Middletown Campus will also be closed. Students should check course sites for web-based instruction.
Frederick County One Hour Delay: MVGS Middletown Campus will also be delayed one hour.
Warrenton Campus:
Fauquier County Public Schools Closed or Two Hour Delay: MVGS Warrenton Campus will also be closed. Students should check course sites for web-based instruction.

As soon as we know of a closing or late opening, we post an announcement on our website and send an email.
3.) Wednesday Announcements - MVGS sends weekly announcements. If you are not receiving these announcements, please email Mrs. Wilmore or call 540-347-6237.
