Mountain Vista Governor's School is an academic year Governor's school for Math, Science, and Technology serving the following school districts :

MVGS News

1.) MVGS 5K Leprechaun Leap Race - MVGS 5K Leprechaun Leap Race will be held on Saturday, March 17th. The race begins at 9:00 a.m. (8:00 a.m. on-site registration) and will be held at the Blandy Experimental Farm & Virginia State Arboretum in Boyce, VA.

Pre-registration cost is $15 and on-site registration is $20.

Runners and walkers are welcome. T-shirts included with pre-registration. Snacks, awards and door prizes for runners. (MVGS 5K Registration Form)

2.) MVGS 5K Leprechaun Leap Sponsors Needed - Sponsors and donations are needed for the MVGS 5K Leprechaun Leap Race.

Sponsors who make a $50 donation will have their business name printed on the t-shirts. Sponsor forms are due by March 1.

Donations for awards and door prizes are also needed. Please send donations to the MVGS office by March 12. (MVGS 5K Sponsor Form)

3.) MVGS School Closings and Inclement Weather - If a school division is closed due to a holiday or teacher work day and MVGS is open, a student is not required but encouraged to attend MVGS. When a school division is closed, that school division will not provide transportation so students who chose to attend MVGS will need to make arrangements for transportation.

The following is the MVGS policy for inclement weather closings:

Middletown Campus:
Frederick County Public Schools Closed or Two Hour Delay: MVGS Middletown Campus will also be closed. Students should check course sites for web-based instruction.

Frederick County One Hour Delay: MVGS Middletown Campus will also be delayed one hour.

Warrenton Campus:
Fauquier County Public Schools Closed or Two Hour Delay: MVGS Warrenton Campus will also be closed. Students should check course sites for web-based instruction.

Fauquier County One Hour Delay: MVGS Warrenton Campus will also be delayed one hour.

As soon as we know of a closing or late opening, we post an announcement on our website and send an email.

4.) Wednesday Announcements - MVGS sends weekly announcements. If you are not receiving these announcements, please email Mrs. Wilmore or call 540-347-6237.
